Digital Photography

digital photography developed dramatically since it's first commercial production in the 90's in Just seventeen years , they became a real competitor to the film photography which is still on it's way to extinction

The power of the Lens in digital photography is Important aspect , and the type and Quality of recoding medium ( CCD or CMOS )Is another very deciding one as well , and for convenience and agility you should be having Quick enough processor to convert the data from raw photos into RGB Clear cut , or just raw Image as in SLR cameras that give your software Installed on PC the option to manipulate

One of the infamous third medium of recording the photons is called Foveon X3 sensor
this sensor is able to record the the three color layers in 3 different layers eliminating any need for a process required to digitize the data in normal photos
Interpolating process is an arithmetical operation done on the data to substitute for Inadequacy or missing Information, As a result, the Foveon X3 sensor delivers the highest degree of full color and image sharpness without even the use of filters.

the only consumer camera with this type of sensor is Polaroid x530 , It's only having
4.5 MP of quality , but in this case pixels are not equivalent

Digital photography paved the way to whole new Industry , and a whole new culture
cause people start documenting everything , and the people who were having problems
with film developing , started bursting their shots with a brave heart , also the camera accessories started to be so variant and lucrative business , like Lenses , Memory cards , extra flashes , Batteries , Recharging devices , card readers, USB cables ,etc...
Usually SLR (Single Lens Reflective) is the choice of professional people who have enough financial resources to support such a product , even you have got the money I don't recommend to get one , cause the accessories will be the price of another SLR camera ! , and the need for maintenance and servicing will stifle any amateur photographer who dream of such a camera , so the best option in this case is to buy a semi-professional camera , that has good optical power , enough mega pixel for the size of your desired print and , use friendly one with good processing speed.

and the examples of such cameras are Increasing in the market of Digital cameras
such as Canon powershot SX IS (X=1,2,3,5), And Olympus SP-560 UZ that boasts 18x optical zoom and 8 MP of power , but usually such cameras are notoriously big in size in comparison with the more elegant pocket sized compact ones like canon famous series IXUS , which boasts one of the highest rates of sale due to it's practicality and ease of use , with good enough quality for a vacation , face photography , and short video footage .
